Bass Tournament 101

New to tournament bass fishing? We created this guide to help answer any questions that you may have.

The Basics

Our fishing tournaments require participants to fish from boats, and shore fishing is unfortunately not allowed. You are permitted to use any type of watercraft, such as a canoe, aluminum boat, pontoon, bass boat, etc. However, it is essential that the craft is safe to use. Since the tournaments are catch and release, your boat will need to have a livewell that can circulate water to keep the fish alive. In case your craft doesn’t have a built-in livewell, there’s no need to worry. You can easily create one by using a cooler or a large Tupperware container.

Team Size

Most tournament organizations have teams of two. CASA is unique where we allow teams to be as large as your boat will allow (based on the Transport Canada or US coast Guard plate). You can also fish by yourself

Costs

The minimum entry fee is $50 per boat, covering 1-2 members. Additional members are $25 each, or $40 for non-members.

Membership costs:

  • $30 per adult
  • $40 per family (must reside at the same address)
